Jamil is approaching 20 years working as an Architect. He graduated from the Manchester School of Architecture. During his architectural education Jamil was fortunate to train under the 2022 Royal Gold Medal recipient BV Doshi at the renowned architect’s studio in Ahmedabad, India.
Jamil has experience in dealing with planning matters related to listed buildings and properties in conservation areas. He has successfully applied for a change of use application for a commercial space in Preston’s Miller Arcade and has worked closely with the planning department in converting a series of landmark Grade II* properties in the heart of Chester.
Jamil’s favourite architect is Louis Kahn, his favourite building is the Taj Mahal which he describes as being ‘perfect’. Outside the office Jamil enjoys reading and gardening.
The existing educational facility has fallen into a condition of disrepair. The community have embarked on an exciting and ambitious project to build a replacement educational centre. Phase one of the construction has now been completed with the erection of the structural frame.
Jamil secured the planning consent for the construction of a large mosque, madrassah and community centre in Bolton. The construction has started in 2017 with Jamil as the Contract Administrator.
The project involved the design of an iconic entrance wing which formed the catalyst for the business to develop into a design centre with numerous prestigious
design partners. The eye catching design is visible from the main arterial roads coming into and out of Preston.
